Antonia Kesel (Violin)

Anotnia Kesel (shadow)A passionate chamber musician, Antonia is violinist for the multi-award winning ensemble, The Jorgensen Trio, who recently won the prestigious St-Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition and have just returned from working with Thomas Ades at Prussia Cove. 

They are collaborating with the British composer Cecilia McDowall on an exciting new recording project for the Deux-Elles record label. Among the many other chamber ensembles she has played with, one of her more recent ventures has been leading the Derazey Quartet with renowned accordionist Owen Murray at the Gnessins Russian Academy in Moscow. 

During the last few years, Antonia has appeared as soloist in the Mendelssohn violin Concerto with the London Youth Symphony Orchestra, performed Beethoven’s Romance no. 1 with the St John’s Chamber Orchestra, the Brahms Double Concerto at the famous church of St Clement Danes in the Strand with the LSE Symphony Orchestra and at the Cannes Film Festival. 

Antonia was awarded a scholarship to study violin full time at the Royal Academy of Music where she currently learns with Jack Liebeck as an undergraduate student. She works as a freelance musician, performing regularly with Raymond Gubbay’s London Concert Orchestra and Mozart Festival Orchestra at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican and KKL Luzern in Lucerne.
